Soup bowl

A deep bowl with straight walls, which keeps the heat and sits well in the hand.

Bowls
A deep bowl with a grey-blue glaze, its foot left as bare stoneware.

The soup bowl is taller than it is wide, with almost straight walls that keep the heat of the broth. The rim is slightly thickened so that the hand heats up more slowly.

The outside stays raw to the touch, in the natural colour of the stoneware; the inside is glazed, smooth and easy to clean. You can see the fine marks of the throwing on the wall, which I leave on purpose.

  • Wash in hot soapy water
  • Leave to soak if the soup has dried at the bottom
  • Avoid sudden thermal shocks
  • Hold it by the sides rather than the rim when it is hot
